The Teaching and Scholarship Podcast is formerly a collaboration between The University of Southampton's Centre for Higher Education Practice (CHEP) and The Faculty of Medicine). Its future is associated with The University of Glasgow and will continue its good work north of the border. In Episode 16 we have a coffee and chat with none other than Professor Alex Neill, who is the Vice-President (Education) and a Professor of Philosophy at the University of Southampton. As the key person to have University-wide oversight of all activities relating to education, we asked Alex, what is a typical (non-covid-19) day like for you, and other important questions like do you get time to eat lunch?!

As you might expect, this podcast focuses mostly on educational leadership and strategy, but we do manage to find some time to ask Alex to reflect upon his days of frontline teaching and the approaches he took when he was a fresh young whipper snapper!
